Rome: Day 3

Today was the day that me and a few others had a free day in Rome. There was an optional excursion to Florence that a lot of the group went on except about 8 of us, and we all decided to go to the beach in Ostia. We took the metro down to Ostia and it was very easy to find, once we got off the subway we just walked straight and ran right into the beach. The beach was packed because it was a beautiful day just like all of the others. Joli, Leigh, and I decided to pay 5 euro to rent a chair, and I'll say it was well worth my money! It was so nice to just sleep in a little bit and do what ever we wanted for the day with out having to be on a schedule. By time we got back from the beach, took a little nap, and showered it was about the time that the group had returned from Florence. We all decided that we'd take the bus into Rome and have dinner. It was frustrating to try to find  a place that we all agreed on, but eventually we picked one and it was a good meal. After dinner we all had a shot of absinthe, and it was fun to try it with everyone in the group. I had never had it before, and I probably won't ever again, Haha. Once we left we were going to stay out in Rome and experience a little bit of the nightlife, but once again it was difficult since everyone was so exhausted from their early morning, and we knew there would be another early morning to come. Overall, for me this was a very relaxing day since we got to enjoy the beautiful beach Italy had to offer us and a nice meal with the group.
